LECTURE: Radar for the Lost Barque

Presenter: Mr. Pearce Paul Creasman, University of Arizona's Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research 

Location: Southern Methodist University, Fondren Science Building, Room 123

Description: In 1894-95 Jacques de Morgan was excavating the pyramid of Senwosret III at Dashur. He discovered a number of boats (between 4 and 6). Four we know of; two are in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, one at the Field Museum in Chicago and one in the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh. De Morgan reported 5 boats in his dig report. Mr. Creasman and his team are searching for a possible 5th boat in the neighborhood of Senwosret III pyramid at Dashur.
