FILM FESTIVAL: Ancient Egypt Film Festival at the Bowers Museum

Date: Saturday, June 12, 2010, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Chapter: Orange County, California

Location: Bowers Museum, 2002 N. Main, Santa Ana, California

Description: Don't miss this chance to immerse yourself in rarely seen movies about your favorite ancient civilization.

First, thrill to "Land of the Pharaohs," directed by Howard Hawks and starring Joan Collins and a cast of thousands in this 1955, $3 million, Cinemascope spectacular.

Next, watch in amazement as engineers rescue the temple at Abu Simbel before flooding from the Aswan Dam in the documentary film "Nubia 64," winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival.

During a lunch break, grab a picnic box or a table at Tangata, the great restaurant at the Bowers, before settling back in your seat to enjoy one of Agatha Christie's most intriguing mysteries, "The Adventure in the Egyptian Tomb."

Last but not least, catch the U.S. premiere of "Fountains of the Sun," a stunning cultural and geographical odyssey down the Nile River.

Download and print our PDF flyer for more detailed information about the films, showtimes, tickets and lunch reservations at Tangata Restaurant.
