LECTURE: Akhenaten's People Speak: Tell el-Amarna, Egypt

Speaker: Dr. Jerry Rose, Department of Anthropology, University of Arkansas

Location: University of Memphis, Fogelberg (Business CLassroom 127).

This lecture is free and open to the public. A free public reception will precede the event at 2:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Fogelman Classroom Building.

Pay parking is available across the street from the Fogelman Classroom Bldg. in the Fogelman Garage on Innovation Drive.

Description: Dr. Rose, a bioanthropologist, has analyzed the skeletal remains of the workmen who built the capital city of Amarna. He will discuss what recent discoveries made by his team reveal about the lives of the ordinary people who lived and worked at the ancient city of Akhetaton, modern Tell el-Amarna, capital of king Akhenaton and queen Nefertiti.
