Description: Dr. Woods provides a history of the excavations of the Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs with particular focus on the tombs of the well-known officials Khumhotep II and Amenemhat. She will highlight the importance of the extensive biographical inscriptions, the outstanding quality of the art and unique themes represented in the tombs as well as the imposing architectural design.
