Bahariya Oasis and El Gara Cave |

BAHARIYA OASIS & EL GARA CAVE

February 15-17, 2008

On the first day of our trip, we will visit a few archaeological sites in Bahariya Oasis. On the second day, we will drive off-road to El Gara Cave, a natural hollow formed by rain in the Eocene-period (55 million year ago) limestone. Water dissolved the limestone to form beautiful stalactities and stalagmites. Prehistoric people lived in the cave probably in late Neolithic times, as evidenced by the artifacts and rock art found in the cave.

COST PER PERSON (sharing a double):

ARCE Members: LE1400
Non-Members: LE1450

Single supplement: LE50

Price includes transportation (by bus from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis and 4X4 vehicles until the end of the trip), accommodation (1 night in a hotel in Bahariya and 1 night camping) on full board basis, permissions and guide.

Deadline for reservations: 7 February, 2008

For more information or to make a reservation please contact Mary Sadek, by phone (2794 8239 or 2795 8683) or email.
