Purpose: To build cooperative networks among regional practitioners and scholars involved in the study or preservation of cultural heritage.
Eligibility: Post-doctoral Egyptian scholars or professionals.
Award: ARCE will award one short-term (one or two-month fellowship) to an Egyptian post-doctoral scholar or professional to undertake a specific research project at an American overseas research centers (ORC) in one of the following countries: Algeria, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, or Yemen. The selected Getty Fellow will receive a stipend of up to US$3,000 for living expenses and up to $1,000 for travel expenses.
Selection Process: Egyptian candidates should submit an application and references directly to ARCE by January 7, 2008. Applications will be sent to US-based ARCE Fellowship Committee for review and ranking during annual meeting in March 2008, and pass recommendations to CAORC review panel for final selection. Final approval will be subject to clearances from hosting country and ORC.

Please note:
1. The selection of Getty Fellowship applicants will follow the same procedures as all other ARCE Fellowship applicants. The same guidelines, processes and deadlines will be respected.
2. If you are a non-Egyptian selected by CAORC for a Fellowship with ARCE in Egypt, you will be required to submit additional paperwork to the relevant Egyptian authorities via ARCE. Final acceptance as a research exchange fellow will be dependent on receiving clearances and permissions from the Egyptian government, as is the case with all Fellows.
