Research Associates

Research Associates

APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JANUARY 16, 2009.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Individuals enrolled in doctoral programs at North American universities, postdoctoral scholars and professional scholars interested in conducting research in Egypt under an institutional auspice, may apply to ARCE for status as a Research Associate. Research Associates receive all administrative and logistical benefits accorded ARCE Fellows, but do not receive financial support. They may conduct research in Egypt for up to 12 months under the auspices of ARCE.

Research associates apply using the same application as Fellows, and the review and acceptance processes are the same. Like Fellows, the status of a Research Associate is contingent on the approval of the proposed research project by the Egyptian government authorities. ARCE will submit Research Associate applications to the authorities for clearance and notify them when security clearance has been granted. Research may not be undertaken prior to security approval, which may take up to five months.
