ARCE will jointly sponsor the Conference on the Bioarchaeology of Ancient Egypt to be held at the Flamenco (Golden Tulip) Hotel in Zamalek from January 31 – February 2, 2013. View the conference website >>
The conference will provide a venue for scholars from the different disciplines of Egyptology, archaeozoology, physical anthropology, and archaeobotany to meet, present and discuss their research in the hopes of increasing opportunities for integrated collaboration as well as expanding our understanding ancient Egypt.
Day one the conference will be devoted to papers relating to human remains with day two divided evenly between papers on zooarchaeology and archaeobotany.
The Wenner-Gren Foundation has generously funded the conference with additional sponsorship from The American University in Cairo, the Institute for Bioarchaeology and the American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE).
