ARCE Conservation Efforts Reported by San Antonio Business Journal
ARCE's recent extension of funding for conservation efforts from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was reported in the San Antonio Business Journal.
This grant will allow ARCE to complete ongoing projects including: conservation of the funerary enclosure of King Khasekhemwy, the last pharaoh of Egypt’s Second Dynasty; restoration of the wall paintings at the Red Monastery, a famous Christian monastery in Egypt; development of a plan for site and visitation(tourist) management in Historic Cairo (the Islamic historic area); development of a museum at the ancient Coptic Monastery of St. Antony near the Red Sea; continuation of the Archaeological Field School at Giza; and publication support.
