ARCE's new class of Summer Arabic Language students has arrived and classes began in earnest at the ARCE Cairo Center this week. This year's class is made up of 31 students ranging in age from 19-49.
Students
were chosen from hundreds of applications to the Council of American Overseas
Research Centers (CAORC), which oversees the program funded by the U.S. State Department's
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. They come from all over the U.S. and
are both graduate and undergraduate level students. All students have had a minimum of one year of Arabic and a maximum of two years. This is the 5th year ARCE
has participated in the program.
