ARCE Lightning Rounds

In November 2020, ARCE will host its first thematic Lightning Rounds for Ph.D candidates globally whose research is centered on Egyptian history and culture heritage. The Lightning Round focuses on Egyptian art production which covers historical periods from prehistory to the 21st century. Research topics related to art and craft production include methods of obtaining raw materials; the organization of craftsmen; pigment production; carving, sculpting and painting techniques; pottery, jewelry, and furniture production; metal working; mosaic and inlay techniques; weaving and textile production and decoration would be suitable presentation topics. 


The Lightning Rounds are time and slide limited where each presenter will give a 5-minute presentation accompanied by 15 PowerPoint slides. The presentations will be back-to-back and only in English. A moderator will be present for introductions, time keeping, moderating panel discussions and a Q&A will take place at the end of the presentation.


The application consists of basic personal information and a 250-word abstract. The screening committee will select up to six presenters with three alternates.
