Lecture Information:
Dr. Sameh Iskander will present the latest archaeological work and research of the New York University- ISAW mission to the temple of Ramesses II in Abydos. The excavations include the discovery of a temple-palace, storerooms, foundation deposits, statues, and unusual animal burials within the temple precinct. These important finds have fundamentally changed our knowledge of the archaeological landscape of Abydos.
